Track Lions and Aid Conservation at Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Overview

Visitors to the unique protected area of Ol Pejeta Conservancy can directly help preserve wildlife. Apart from the last two northern white rhinos and the Big Five, it helps communities nearby with health and education initiatives.

Visit the conservancy for a unique experience, where visitors may actively help gather important research data by tracking collared lions. Should the collared lions go missing, you will record sightings of other lions, noting unique traits including nose spots, ear tears, and whisker spots. This practical knowledge is a great chance to learn about lions and provide the Ol Pejeta Ecological Monitoring Department with useful information. Have a wonderful experience while supporting the research and protection of these magnificent creatures.

Guests are picked up in a shared conservancy vehicle either in morning tracking at 6:30 am or in afternoon tracking at 3:30 pm. Tracking ends at 5:30 pm and 8:30 am, respectively. You have to remain in the vehicle. You will be provided pens, lion ID sheets, and drinking water. We suggest packing binoculars and cameras.
